Elementary School Philosophy
Elementary School Teaching Methodology: (Grades 1st – 4th)
The Curriculum
Subject areas in Arabic are clearly defined by the Syrian National Curriculum whereas core subjects like Language Arts, Math and Science are also given in the second language of choice (either English or French).
Students can further begin learning a third language during first grade; for example, Arabic-French students learn English as a third language, and Arabic-English students learn French as a third language.
Teaching Methodology
The teaching methodology enables the child to learn and apply strategies that will help him obtain information through peer interaction, textbooks and other resource means such as Encyclopedias, scientific experiments, the library, the internet and computer softwares.
The teacher’s role will be that of a manager who helps students when they encounter difficulty and advises them accordingly.
